Strade Bianche di Essex 2022
Inspired by the infamous Italian monument, Strade Bianche, our annual spring homage to some of Essex’s finest mixed cycling terrains is taking place this year on Saturday March 5th.
Strade Bianche takes its name from the historic white gravel roads - a defining feature of the professional race - which can result in very dusty conditions in dry weather.
This year, setting off and returning to Hub Velo in Clapton for cake, coffee and a post-ride bagel, the mixed terrain route takes in some of the best gravel trails in Essex, which are designed to be ridden on road and/or gravel bikes. It has everything from singletracks and dirt trails to tarmac and gravel, and will include some of the club’s favourite country roads, climbs, and sprint segments.

What you need to know:
Date: Saturday March 5th
You don’t need to pay, you will just need to arrive at the Hub Velo shop
All members and non-members are welcome
Timings: Members please use Spond to book rides. All rides, aim to get back to the shop before 14:00 (note the shop will only be serving refreshments as per below.)
Catering: Complimentary bagels will be available for club and non club members on a first come basis. Vegans will be catered for
Members: If you’re inviting a friend, or non club member, along to join the ride, please take care of them!
Please bring appropriate gear and clothing for your discipline!
The shop will be open until 18.00
Members have conducted a recon of the route. However, due to the nature of off-road/gravel rides, there could be surprises to please be careful and respectful to your environment.
