Hub Velo CC appoints new chairperson

Hub Velo CC members attended the club’s virtual Annual General Meeting this week where Werdah Hussain, the club’s former BAME Champion, was elected as our new Chairperson.

Werdah, who has been a club member for since March 2019, is replacing Andrew Russell, who has recently moved to Australia after 3 successful years at the helm.

Other new faces being welcomed onto the committee this year include Alex Booker, as Social Secretary, Nicolas Laurent, as Special Rides Coordinator, and Cecilia Boz as Female Welfare Officer.

Having navigated our way through the challenges of the global pandemic, the club continues to build strong foundations for amateur and regular cyclists in East London to build friendships and participate in club life, on and off the bike.

Our membership numbers peaked at a club-record 204 this year! By boosting our club communications - putting members and their cycling stories at the heart of our club website and social media content - investing in new club kit, adding additional options to our calendar of events like monthly beginners rides and social cycles to the seaside – as well as making Spond our online diary for club rides, the club’s profile and engagement with its membership is growing.
