#ThrowbackThursday: A trip down memory lane

We’ve been digging back into our humble roots! Sure, you’ve seen a picture of our history in the ‘about us’ section of the website: which of course you’ve checked numerous times and memorised back to front, especially if you’re a club member.

However, we thought you’d appreciate these absolutely golden photos - a real blast from the past:

The ‘OG’ gang! From left to right, Mike, Louis, Robbie, James, Bede, Gary and Kevin, way back when the shop was half the size it is now - back then the shop only had the right hand unit at 217a Lower Clapton Road. There was a workshop, floor space and till (no cafe then!) all crammed together into the tight space.

The first ever Hub Velo club ride takes a cafe stop at The Bridge Deli (now the Blue Boar) in Abridge in April 2016.

...and one of the first ever special club events open to all, the Women’s Rapha 100 in July 2016.

Time to expand! The shop snaffles up the shop next door, most recently used as an internet cafe, but peeling back layers of history reveals it was formerly Dears, a pet shop.
